Hawai‘i Island police are asking for the public’s help in finding a 17-year-old boy.

Hunter Mercier was reported as a runaway on Monday. He is known to frequent the lower Puna areas. The teen has a light complexion, is 6-feet-1-inches tall, 170 pounds, slim build with light brown hair and brown eyes.

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the department’s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the island-wide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
