COVID Weekly Update: 803 New Cases Confirmed on Hawaiʻi Island

The state Department of Health reported 7,199 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, June 15, bringing the statewide total to 297,851. Nine new fatalities were reported.

A total of 803 new infections were identified Wednesday on the Big Island. A map documenting new cases by district throughout all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 206,848
Hawaiʻi: 32,987
Maui: 33,871
Kaua‘i: 15,082
Moloka‘i: 1,111
Lana‘i: 753
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 7,199

Of those total cases, 9,656 required hospitalization, with 190 currently hospitalized. At least 1,474 have died since the pandemic began. Hospitalization data is updated Monday through Friday, except on state and federal holidays.
