A Kona District Court judge reduced bail for a Kona man charged with attempted distribution of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl offenses.
Charges stem from a search warrant executed by Hawai‘i Police Department’s Area II Vice Section at an apartment unit at the Ulu Wini Apartments in Kailua-Kona on Tuesday, May 24. As a result, 34-year-old Timothy Reeves was arrested and charged with first-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, two counts of second-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug and prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia.
The most serious offense, Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the First Degree, is a class A felony offense, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
Reeves made his initial appearance on Wednesday in Kona District Court. The District Court judge reduced his bail from $111,250 to $5,000 over the Prosecutors’ objection. Reeves was ordered to appear for a preliminary hearing Thursday, May 26, in Kona District Court.
